Back in April I cut my hair down to about 1/4".
It was pretty great and extra low maintenance. Over the past few months it's been growing like a weed (thank you pregnancy) which means more up keep - but that also means I get to play.

I want to find or make more flower clips. They're perfect days when I don't feel like doing much
There are three shoe types that I adore:
Mary Jane's, flip flops and boots.
Not cutesy boots, or ankle boots; no stiletto, pointy toed boots.
I like stomping boots.
One day, when I grow up, I'm going to buy myself a pair of these boots from Frye.
They may be the last boot I need - ever.

I was playing around with some chain and yarn and this is what I came up with.
All-in-all it was a very productive nap time :)
A perfectly imperfect hat I recently finished for Little Mr.
The decreases are a little off, but it's soft and stretchy so he's set through the winter no matter how big his head gets :)

Really. This family did an amazing kitchen remodel (see their before and after photos here). And, not that we don't have the space to expand our kitchen, and not that we could save up the money...But all of this just isn't necessary. It'd be nice, but it's a bit more than we need.
I think what I'd like in our house right now isn't necessarily perfection just - improvement.
The bigger Little Mr. gets, the more we need to keep an eye on him during his more quite playing times. Loud, banging, obnoxious play is great. I know where he is and what he's doing - silence, not so much. Not that we don't encourage quite time (everyone needs quite time)...but the kitchen is very cutoff from the living room.

There is some level of mischief that can be made out of just about anything; especially if you're 2 years old and want to see what happens if you put your little chair on top of the toy chest, then climb up to sit in it...while trying to balance your feet on a beach ball
I'd love to just take the wall down between the kitchen and living room and replace it with an island w/ a built in stove...ooooo and the pot rack. If we did that, then you could have a pretty clear view of pretty much the entire house.
And until then, I can dream....
The one thing about mini bagels (the ones you can get in a bag at the
store) is that they always seem to go stale so quickly....or maybe we
just don't eat them fast enough.
Either way, food waste is not something that I'm at all proud of.
So what to do with stale bagels? Other than toss them in the compost or feed them to the birds. I don't know what you do but we made bagel chips!

I can't believe that fall is almost here! I'd better start putting the buttons on all those scarves I've been working on!

I decided to use my craft time (read: nap time and bedtime) during the holiday weekend to finally put the finishing touches on as many half-done projects as possible. And I'm actually very proud of how much work I did. Take a look!

This is not the first time I've written about notebooks. And it's not as if I need any more laying around.
But, for the record I've been sooooo disciplined about my notebook purchases or, better, lack of notebook purchases. No easy feat mind you; especially when I work half a block from a stationary store that has there journals on sale for a full month twice a year.

This is such a great rainy day craft project. Although, honestly, I need more project ideas about as much as a need more notebooks).
It would be a great excuse reason to get a few rolls of this Japanese decorative tape I've been eying.
I love blank notebooks. sigh.

It's really liked being tagged because as a recipient of the award I'm supposed to post 7 things about myself and pass the award onto a few other bloggers buddies.
So, 7 things about me....
1- I don't like wet. So if you're washing dishes and I ask for a fork and you hand me a wet fork, I'm going to need a towel before I can move forward with my task. And I've gotten better - I used to not even take the wet fork until the other person dried it off. This also applies to bathroom counters that haven't been properly wiped off after use, and just about anything a wet umbrella touches. ick
2-I like manual labor. I do. I like starting something, working on it, and having something tangible to show at the end. I have no problem with ikea instructions, and I'm putting a drill on birthday wish list next year. My husband also often comes home to rearranged furniture (large scale furniture moving has slowed, but not ceased, during my pregnancy)
3-I have a crazy sweet tooth that I try to balance out by only eating sweets that I make myself, and eating healthy in most other aspects. Soda, candy, weird grocery baked goods - no; homemade brownies, cookies, cinnamon rolls and anything from a small local bakery - yes!
4-I played the violin for 7 years, then got to a high school with no music program; I am adamantly against cutting extracurricular programs in schools. I'd rather that the streets were filled with potholes than short changing any aspect of education.
6- I wanted to be a dancer.
7-I used to know how to develop film...you do remember film right?

This is the little drawer of almost complete little projects that I'm intent on finishing this weekend. Everything in here represents about 7 pair of earrings, 4-5 rings, 6 bracelets, 2-3 hair clips, and 6 necklaces.
That's a ton of work that I've put into this little box and it's all just wasting away in various stages of incomplete.
It's Sunday night and I've already gotten through a couple of hair clips, rings and most of the earrings. We'll see how much more I can accomplish during our movie tonight and tomorrow's nap time!

I must say I haven't been great this summer about posting new products to my etsy site, or marketing myself for that matter, but sales keep trickling in.
I just sold the last pair of rosette earrings yesterday.
Looks like it's time to make some more.
The silly thing is that I actually have several items that are sooooo close to being finished, including more of these rosettes in different colors. But right when I get to the point where all I need to do is add a button to scarf or a clasp to a necklace - I start another project. *sigh*
Maybe I'll make this weekend my 'finishing touches' weekend.
